Personal Impact

Presentation Skills
A presentation is not a set of slides, it is you! Your ability to grab an audience’s attention, be clear and compelling, and engage them emotionally.

We look at structure, rhetoric, body language, voice, effective use of visual aids, question handling and managing nerves. We devote plenty of time to practice and use video review to build self-awareness and point out progress.
Client Interactions
Whether pitching for new business or dealing with a dissatisfied customer, at the heart of all client interactions sit relationship and trust.

We work on how to establish great rapport, build credibility, understand customer needs, take ownership and sell one’s services with passion and pride.
Interview Skills
We help you prepare for job interviews and promotion. We work with you on the examples and stories that best illustrate your skills and qualities. We provide extensive practice to ensure that you’re sounding fluent, looking confident and feeling ready.
Media Training
Media interviews are a great opportunity for an organisation to build its visibility and influence opinion. They also carry certain risks. Fundamental to getting it right, is knowing what you want to say, saying it with conviction and deftly handling the tough questions.

We look at how best to prepare, and we work with a professional journalist to provide real-life practice interviews.  We use video for review.

Leading & Managing Others

We deliver programmes in the following areas:
- Providing Effective Feedback
- Coaching for Performance
- Delegating
- Appraisal Conversations
- Influencing Stakeholders
- Mastering Challenging Conversations
Core skills and models
We work with people on the mind-sets with which they approach these conversations, and we help them develop the skills and behaviours that will lead to their success: Questioning, Listening, Curiosity, Empathy, Flexibility, Clarity, Honesty and Assertiveness.

We use a range of theoretical inputs including: Social Styles, Transactional Analysis, Radical Candor, the Trust Equation and the GROW coaching model.
Our methods
We make extensive use of Forum Theatre to bring theory to life, spark discussion and share good practice.

We use conversation coaching (professional role-play with business actors) to embed new habits. This enables individuals to practise in a safe environment and receive expert feedback on their style and approach.

Conversation Clinic

What is the Conversation Clinic?
Our clinics work extremely well as a supplement to other training or as a regular stand-alone service where people can come along to hone their skills or prepare for a critical conversation that’s coming up.

They’re led by one of our ‘Conversation Coaches’, who is both role-player and behavioural coach rolled into one. They offer skills practice, specialist coaching and expert feedback.
What does a session look like?
The sessions are stretching yet supportive, designed to build confidence and capability.

The coach explores their coachee’s mind- set; introduces user-friendly theory and helpful tips; takes a brief about a specific conversation that needs practice; role-plays that conversation in stop-start fashion with the coach taking on the behaviours of the other person. The coach provides detailed and constructive feedback and together they re-run parts of the conversation to really embed the learning.
Practicalities
Sessions can be face-to-face or virtual.

Face-to-face, it’s run surgery-style; the coach working with a number of people, in separate sessions, over a day.  And the joy of virtual means that wherever you are in the world, whenever you need some expert help, you can just book in, log on, and get practising!

Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging

A drama-based approach
Even those who are well intentioned, sometimes make decisions and behave in ways which unwittingly leave others feeling marginalised.  Our workshops explore conscious and unconscious biases, heuristics, how we make decisions, and crucially the impact we have on others.

Using drama is the perfect way to reflect the unhelpful behaviours in organisations. This also enables safe discussion and nuanced exploration of the issues.
Our workshops
Our engaging and interactive workshops blend drama, discussion, thought-provoking activities and action-planning.

Delegates will leave our sessions: understanding that it is a universal human trait to have biases; appreciating how their own behaviours may impact others; knowing how to reduce their biases; and armed with some tools to constructively challenge less-inclusive behaviours in others.
Practicalities
Our workshops are typically around half a day and are delivered by one lead-facilitator alongside two or three actor-facilitators.

Whilst the building blocks of the workshop are tried and tested, the make-up of our team and the drama elements will be designed to reflect your organisation and resonate with your delegates.

Leading & Managing Others

Our Leading & Managing Others workshops explore the essential communication skills necessary for effective leadership & management.

We cover the following areas

- Giving Effective Feedback
- Managing Performance
- Coaching
- Delegating
- Performance Reviews and Objective Setting
- Influencing
- Difficult Meetings and Challenging Conversations

These conversations are crucial to engaging and motivating others, developing talent, retaining good people, building high-performing teams and creating great places to work.

We work with people on the mind-sets with which they approach these conversations, and we help them to develop the skills and behaviours that will lead to their success. We make extensive use of performed scenarios and forum theatre to bring theory to life, spark discussion and share good practice.

We use role-play – both pre-written and bespoke – to enable individuals to practise and get feedback. We offer virtual conversation coaching sessions too.

This is supported by the theoretical inputs which we have seen to be the most valuable, such as: Social Styles, Transactional Analysis, Thomas-Kilmann, the Conversation Cycle, EEC Feedback model, the Trust Equation and the GROW coaching model.

The Conversation Clinic

Our Conversation Clinics revolve around three pillars: communications coaching, skills practice and expert feedback

What Is The Conversation Clinic ?

Our Conversation Clinics provide a safe opportunity for people to reflect upon, and practice, their communication skills. They’re led by one of our ‘Conversation Coaches’, who are seasoned business role-players as well as skilled communication coaches.

They offer specialist coaching, and skills practice, in the areas of communication that the participant wants (or needs) to develop.
